Answers for athletes, parents, coaches, fans, and administrators. Quick guides on PERFORM IDPs, Confidence Evaluations, Team Admin, data ownership, and getting started.
Meet Alex
Your intelligent coaching assistant.
Alex helps you navigate SHOT Clubhouse — understanding PERFORM IDPs, Confidence Evaluations, Team Admin, and more. The answers below cover the questions we hear most, grouped by the role you're playing in the Clubhouse.
For athletes
Athletes.
How do I view and understand my PERFORM Individual Development Plan (IDP)?
Your PERFORM IDP lives inside your SHOT Clubhouse profile. Open the app, head to your profile, and tap the PERFORM tab to see your plan.
Your IDP shows where you are across the five PERFORM pillars — Technical, Psychological, Social, Physical, and Personal — and the targeted actions your coach has set to help you grow.
The tools help you own your journey. Your data belongs to you, permanently.
Why should I care about Confidence Evaluations and how do they help me?
Confidence Evaluations are not about harsh grading. They are about finding the areas where you need encouragement and the areas where you are ready to push on.
Each evaluation is scored 1 to 5 — 1 is Foundation, 3 is Competent, 5 is Confident. Over time, the patterns show you (and your coach) exactly where to focus.
The point is simple: progress you can see. Where competitors tell you who's coming to practice or how good you are, SHOT shows you who you are becoming.
What happens to my data and history if I leave my current club?
The athlete owns their data. If you leave a team, your coach's access is revoked automatically and your full history — evaluations, IDPs, timeline — stays with you.
You carry your SHOT ID across clubs, seasons, and sports. Nothing is lost when you move on.
For parents
Parents.
How do I use the platform to track my child's holistic progress?
Link your parent account to your child's SHOT ID. Once linked, you can see their PERFORM IDP, Confidence Evaluation history, and timeline activity across the five pillars — Technical, Psychological, Social, Physical, and Personal.
This is holistic progress, not just technical skills. You see who your child is becoming, not just how many goals they scored.
How does SHOT handle data privacy, safeguarding, and coach connections for under-18s?
Safeguarding is the priority. For under-18s, a coach connection is only activated after explicit Parental Approval. You control who can see your child's profile.
Direct messaging features are restricted for minors. Personalised analytics are disabled for under-18s — PostHog user identification, Microsoft Clarity session recording, and Sentry session replays are all switched off for minor accounts.
Your child owns their historical record. If they leave a club, the data stays with them and coach access is revoked.
Will Confidence Evaluations put too much pressure on my child?
Confidence Evaluations are designed to find areas for encouragement, not to grade harshly. The 1 to 5 scale tracks development stages (Foundation → Consistent/Development → Mastery/Performance), giving coaches a language to celebrate progress and target specific support.
It is about development, not judgement. The evaluation is the starting point for a conversation about how to help your child grow — across all five pillars, including the personal and social sides of sport.

How do I manage my roster and settings in Team Admin?
Team Admin is the home for your squad. From there you can:
- Open Team Admin from the main navigation.
- Add athletes to your roster, set age groups, and define squad structure.
- Configure training schedules, match fixtures, and communication defaults.
- Manage coaching staff permissions and parental connections.
SHOT is a development platform that happens to include team management. Admin is the boring side handled for you, so you can focus on the real work.
How do I use the 1-5 scoring scale to conduct Confidence Evaluations for my athletes?
Each athlete is evaluated across the five pillars — Technical, Psychological, Social, Physical, and Personal — using a simple 1 to 5 scale:
- 1 — Foundation: building the basic understanding.
- 3 — Consistent / Development: applying it reliably in training.
- 5 — Mastery / Performance: executing it confidently under pressure.
The 30-second evaluation is the hook. Two minutes to set up, and coaches actually want to use it. Over time, the patterns tell you exactly where each athlete needs support.
How does ALEX analyse evaluation patterns to suggest targeted coaching advice?
ALEX reads the patterns in your Confidence Evaluations and turns them into practical, actionable coaching tips. Instead of leaving IDP theory on a shelf, ALEX helps you translate the data into the next session plan.
This is the difference between standard admin apps and SHOT: apps like Spond tell you who's coming, 360Player tells you how good they are, SHOT shows you who they are becoming — and ALEX tells you what to do about it.

How do I follow my favourite team and athletes?
Create a SHOT Clubhouse account and use the search to find the teams and athletes you want to follow. Tap Follow on any public profile to add them to your feed.
Your feed surfaces match results, timeline updates, and public content from everyone you follow.
What kind of stats and progress can I see on the Live Dashboard?
The Live Dashboard shows public match stats, fixtures, and team-level progress for the clubs and athletes you follow. Private evaluation data, IDPs, and personal information remain visible only to the athlete, their connected parents, and their verified coaches.
For admins
Admins, NGBs & FAs.
How does SHOT PERFORM align with frameworks like the FA Four Corners?
SHOT PERFORM's five core pillars — Technical, Psychological, Social, Physical, and Personal — map directly onto the FA's Four Corners and onto equivalent frameworks in Rugby Union, Rugby League, and other national governing-body standards.
That alignment means clubs and NGBs can standardise development across their grassroots programmes and evidence the impact of investment with consistent, comparable data.
How is SHOT PERFORM different from team management apps like Spond or 360Player?
SHOT Clubhouse is a development platform that happens to include team management. Competitors focus on the admin layer — Spond tells you who is coming to practice, 360Player tells you how good they are. SHOT shows you who they are becoming.
We measure the whole person through holistic development, not just technical skills. Team admin is included, but it is the floor, not the ceiling.
Does SHOT support other sports like Rugby Union or Rugby League?
Yes. The five-pillar framework is sport-agnostic and maps onto Rugby Union, Rugby League, cricket, netball, boxing, padel, and more. Governing-body frameworks across sports share the same underlying structure — SHOT PERFORM is built to align with whichever standard your organisation follows.
